Concrete tile or clay tile — which should I choose?
Both are excellent on this coast and both are made to last. Clay holds its color longer and is the traditional choice on Mediterranean homes; concrete gives you more profiles and colors and is what most communities here already have on the roof. If you are replacing, the answer is usually whatever matches the neighborhood. We bring samples of both.
Can you match the tile that is on my house now?
Almost always. We match your existing profile and color from what the manufacturers currently make, and we will show you the sample against your house before it is ordered. What we do not do is manufacture a custom color for one roof — nobody should, and it would not match the neighbors anyway.
How long does a tile roof take?
For most homes, two to three weeks of work on the roof once the material lands, plus the permit and the tile lead time before that. The deck is open for less than five days by our standard. The written estimate gives you the real timeline, not the optimistic one.
My HOA has to approve the color. Who handles that?
We do. The HOA submittal, the sample, the permit application, the Notice of Commencement, the inspections — all of it. You sign the agreement and you are done working.
Will my roof structure carry tile?
If tile is on it now, yes. If you are going from shingle to tile, we look at the framing before we quote it and tell you honestly. Tile is heavy, and a roof that was built for shingle is not always a roof that should carry tile.
I'm not in Florida right now. Can this still happen?
It happens every season. The estimate is measured by satellite, the photographs come to your phone every day, and the owner calls you when the final inspection passes. Several of the reviews on this site were written by owners who never saw the crew.
